Yasmin El Moustaine
Yasmin holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Sustainable Chemistry and a Minor in Environmental Sciences from McMaster University. She credits her keen interest in the sciences to fantastic teachers and a supportive learning environment growing up.
Extremely passionate about science communication, Yasmin donned many hats across her efforts to nurture STEM interest. As Course Development Assistant, she developed a sustainable chemistry lecture unit for a McMaster undergraduate chemistry course. Delivered to 1600 students, the new lectures affirmed the role of chemists in tackling sustainability issues. As Research Assistant, she modified lectures and co-developed deliverables for a fourth-year McMaster toxicology course. Her pedagogical experience extends beyond the university level. As a placement student with Let’s Talk Science, she created and delivered an interactive water quality workshop to low-income, middle school students across Hamilton.
